London Seed Capital Limited (LSC) is a seed and early-stage venture capital fund. London Seed Capital was established as a co-investment fund, which means that LSC only invests where its investment is at least matched by business angels. It can invest a maximum of £100,000 in the first round, alongside a minimum of £100,000 of business angel investment.

LSC operates in conjunction with the London Business Angel network (LBA) through which the majority of the required matched business angel investment is likely to be sourced. The key ingredient of our investment model is that as part of the business angel syndicate with which it is investing there is a lead business angel investor with relevant skills that will be joining the board post completion.

Why business angels?

There is no substitute for experience. Business angels bring deep sector knowledge and contacts to young growing companies. By investing alongside business angels, our portfolio companies receive the added value and hands-on involvement that business angels provide.

Funding

We look at many factors that can influence a company’s potential for success. Some of the key criteria we focus on in particular when considering an investment are:

• Strong management team - experienced management team with relevant operational or sector experience.
• Attractive market - large, growing market with an international expansion strategy.
• Sustainable competitive advantage - a clear technological advantage, scalability and high barriers to entry.
• Potential for explosive growth - your company should have the potential to become a market leader in the near term.
